Then it might make sense for you to take an HIV test.<\/p>\n<p>Are you in intimate relationships with changing partners? Then you should get tested for HIV once a year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There are many good reasons to get an HIV test:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You would like to have sex without a condom or internal condom in a relationship or partnership.<\/li>\n<li>You would like to have children.<\/li>\n<li>You are expecting a child.<\/li>\n<li>You want to be sure you have not caught the virus after you have had a high-risk exposure.<\/li>\n<li>You would like to get early treatment after a possible infection with HIV.<\/li>\n<li>You are experiencing unclear symptoms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>An HIV test is always voluntary.<\/strong> Every person decides themselves whether they want to get tested or not. Without consent, no HIV test. This also applies to testing at the hospital or at a doctor\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There are different kinds of HIV tests:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>HIV lab tests<\/li>\n<li>rapid HIV tests<\/li>\n<li>HIV self tests<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most <a href=\"https:\/\/niedersachsen-aidshilfe-migration.de\/en\/counselling-centers-for-sexual-health-hiv-support-and-prevention\/\">\u2018Aidshilfe\u2019 support centres<\/a> and many local public health authorities offer HIV testing. The test will be carried out anonymously. You do no need to give your name.
